Big Laughs and Bold Talent: Inside the Laugh-Able Comedy Tent

Enjoy comedy talent, guest performers, improvisation games and an afternoon of laughter in the welcoming Laugh-Able Comedy Tent.

Get ready for an afternoon of laughter, creativity and audience participation inside the Laugh-Able Comedy Tent.

Running from approximately 4pm to 6pm, the tent will be hosted by Laugh-Able in partnership with One Place East.

The programme will showcase disabled comedians and performers who have developed their talent through Laugh-Able’s comedy workshops, alongside special guest acts.

Celebrating disabled comedy talent

Comedy provides a powerful way to tell stories, challenge assumptions, build confidence and bring people together.

The Laugh-Able Comedy Tent will give performers an opportunity to share their humour, personality and creativity with a festival audience. Expect a varied and welcoming programme, with plenty of big laughs and memorable moments.

Interactive improvisation

Between performances, the Laugh-Able team will run interactive improvisation games.

Audience members will be invited to experience some of the activities used during Laugh-Able’s workshops.

• Join an improvisation activity

• Suggest an idea

• Encourage the performers

• Watch from the audience

• Come and go as you need

There is no pressure to participate. Watching and enjoying the atmosphere is just as welcome.

Comedy that brings people together

The tent is intended to be a friendly and inclusive space where disabled performers are recognised for their talent rather than treated as an afterthought.

Comedy can help people find their voice, experiment with ideas and connect through shared experiences. It can also open conversations about disability in a way that is honest, warm and engaging.

A festival within the festival

The Comedy Tent provides a different atmosphere from the Main Stage while remaining part of the wider festival celebration.
