Create postcards, decorate tote bags, make badges and magnets, try printmaking and enjoy accessible creative activities throughout the festival. Creativity is for everyone, and the festival’s workshop area will provide plenty of opportunities to make, experiment and have fun.

Four community organisations will offer a varied programme of activities throughout the day.

Visitors can join an activity that interests them, try something unfamiliar or simply enjoy creating alongside others.

Colours of Redbridge

Available approximately 12pm–5pm

Colours of Redbridge will offer:

Block-printed postcards

Create your own design using block-printing techniques and produce a postcard to take home.

Message in a bottle

Write, decorate and create a personal message-in-a-bottle keepsake.

Photo booth

Capture a festival memory with friends, family or fellow visitors.

Hopeful Futures

Available approximately 1.30pm–3.30pm

Tote-bag design

Decorate your own reusable tote bag using colours, shapes and personal designs.

This activity offers a practical item to take away while allowing participants to express their individual creativity.

One Place East

Available approximately 12pm–1.30pm and 3.30pm–5pm

Badge and magnet making

Design a colourful badge or magnet using shapes, patterns, words and pictures.

These short activities are ideal for visitors who want to make something personal without committing to a longer workshop.

Barkingside Art Club

Available from approximately 12pm until 5pm or 6pm

Printmaking

Experiment with prints, patterns and creative designs.

Cardboard activities

Turn simple cardboard materials into imaginative objects and artworks.

Create at your own pace

The workshops are intended to be informal and welcoming. Visitors may want to complete an entire project, make a quick item or simply observe before deciding whether to participate.

Support will be available from the organisations running each workshop, subject to capacity and available materials. Some activities may be especially popular, so short waits may be necessary at busy times.

Create, connect and enjoy

Creative activities are not only about producing a finished object. They provide opportunities to:

  • Explore ideas

  • Build confidence

  • Develop skills

  • Relax and focus

  • Spend time with family and friends

  • Meet other people

  • Celebrate individual expression

Come along, try something different and take home a memory of the Disability Festival in the Park.

Workshop times and activities may be subject to change.
